Your Life Stories
Personal stories, family history, memoirs. Is it worth writing down stories from our own lives?
Sometimes we think the only stories worth telling are about the people in the news, celebrities, and people who are famous or well-known. These people seem to be living lives much more important or glamorous than our own, but nothing could be further from the truth. It’s all a matter of perspective.
There are many reasons we would want to write down our own stories.
Some people want their children and grandchildren to know some of the things that have happened in their lives. Maybe they don't get to spend very much time with their grandchildren and can't tell them all the stories they want to tell in person. They don’t want these stories to be lost.
Some people use writing to help them process and make sense of their lives. Some people have experienced difficult or challenging events and need to write in order to process these things or share these with others. Writing is a type of therapy.
I’m sure you have your own reasons for wanting to record your personal life stories.
I am here to work with you in whatever way you need. Wherever you are in your storytelling journey, I can help. Here are just a few of the things I can do for you:
Listen to you tell your stories, record them in an audio file, and transcribe your words
Suggest writing prompts to help you write your stories yourself
Edit your writing
Publish your stories in a custom-made book, photo collage, or some other creative memory project
